THE RETURN NO ONE INVITED: CORRIE BRINGS BACK ITS MOST DIVISIVE CHARACTER!
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street is bringing back a controversial character just months after their dramatic exit. Played by Farrel Hegarty, Lou Michaelis is set to return to the soap having last been seen in July.
The character joined Corrie in February last year alongside her on-screen husband Mick Michaelis, played by Joe Layton.
Billed as “nightmare neighbours”, the Michaelis family lived up to their reputation, with Lou and Mick bidding farewell to the cobbles in July as they both prepared to spend time in prison.
While the couple’s stint on the show was always intended to be a short one, The Sun reports that Lou is set to make her comeback next month having already filmed her return scenes.
According to the publication, show bosses jumped at the chance to bring Hegarty back as Lou after she made a big impression on them.

In her emotional exit scenes, Lou decided to go no contact with her children while she was imprisoned after pleading guilty to attacking Gary Windass.
When foster carer Sally Metcalfe visited her in prison, Lou told her she didn’t want her to bring the kids to see her anymore.
“I don’t want you bringing the kids to see me anymore. Not regularly,” she told Sally, adding: “I just don’t want them to get used to seeing me here. And this place getting mixed up in their memory of me.”

With Lou set to return to the soap imminently, it looks as though Lou’s “goodbye for now” really was just for now.
Last year, Corrie writer Jan McVerry hinted that the Michaelis couple might be making a comeback, telling the Stateside Street podcast: “We brought in the Michaelis family, him [Mick] and Lou, [it was] very explosive, hit the ground running.
“The viewers hated them, but they brought a lot of drama with them, and they’ve left us a great legacy with Brody. It’s not the end of the family,” she continued. “We are going to hear from them again.”
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
