The Young and the Restless spoilers for the episode set to air on February 25, 2026

Nick refuses to trust Victor’s promise

At the Newman ranch, panic and anger erupt when Nick learns that a judge has thrown out the case against Matt Clark and set him free. The news shocks the whole family especially after Victor admits that Matt has already disappeared since his release.

Nick fears the worst right away. He knows Matt’s past and his need for revenge. Nick believes it is only a matter of time before Matt shows up again maybe even at the Newman property. The thought of his family being in danger again pushes Nick to his limit.

Victor stays calm and tells Nick he will take care of Matt and end the threat for good. Nick reminds him that he said the same thing before and Matt still walked free. This time Nick refuses to rely on promises alone.

Sharon joins Nick’s dangerous scheme

Nick does not want to depend only on Victor so he takes action himself. He tells Sharon that Matt is free and she feels the same anger and fear. Sharon knows how dangerous Matt is and she refuses to sit back and wait for him to make a move.

Nick and Sharon start planning behind Victor’s back. They want to stop Matt before he strikes again. Their plan is still coming together but they stand united. This time they want to stay one step ahead instead of reacting to trouble.

Their teamwork also shows a bigger problem in the Newman family. Victor says he has everything under control but Nick does not fully believe him anymore. This growing gap between father and son could cause more issues beyond the Matt situation.

Devon unloads on Cane over Lily and the twins

Meanwhile Devon gets shocking news about Lily and her twins. When he hears details about Mattie and Charlie’s supposed abductions he loses his temper. He believes Cane’s choices have put Lily and the kids in serious danger.

Devon does not know the full story. Lily knows more about Victor’s larger plan and the kidnappings are not exactly what they seem. But no one tells Devon the truth. Because he feels left out, his reaction becomes intense and emotional.

Devon confronts Cane and blasts him for being careless and putting his own family at risk. The argument grows heated as fear and anger take over. Devon stands firm in his loyalty to Lily and cares only about keeping her and the twins safe.

Cane defends himself as the corporate war escalates

Cane says he never meant for things to get this bad. He claims he made every choice to protect his family and secure their future. His words do not calm Devon. Devon sees only danger and poor decisions.

The situation grows worse at Newman Enterprises. Phyllis Summers now controls the company, with Billy Abbott supporting her. This shift makes Victor’s larger plan harder to carry out. It also makes Cane’s goal of bringing peace back to his family much more difficult.

As the week moves forward, Devon does more than just argue. He plans to take action with Nate Hastings and may even confront Victor face to face. This possible showdown points to a bigger fight between the Winters family and the Newmans that could change alliances in Genoa City. Matt remains free. Nick and Sharon secretly plan their next move. Devon prepares to stand up to powerful people.
