When Does Soap Icon Erika Slezak Debut on ‘General Hospital’?

General Hospital fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see soap icon Erika Slezak in Port Charles.

As Parade reported, the One Life to Live alum is making her soap return this fall. Now we have more insight into when Slezak will be back on our TV screens.

General Hospital Fans Get An Update On Erika Slezak Joining The Show

The talented actress releases information through her official Erika Slezak Fan Club, and she has some good news. According to the site, Slezak has confirmed she began taping scenes on the ABC soap last week.

“Everyone at GH is so wonderfully kind and helpful, and by now I know my way around the studio a bit,” she shared with the website.

This has brought up the question of when Slezak will debut on General Hospital. After all, she is reported to be a long lost relative of Monica’s (Leslie Charleson).

General Hospital will pay tribute to Charleson, who died in January, with Monica’s death panning out on-screen this week. The show has an emotional send-off planned, honoring the legacy of Charleson and Monica.

That means Slezak’s premiere is on the horizon. General Hospital films about four to six weeks in advance, so Slezak will be on-screen sometime in October or maybe sooner if executive producer Frank Valentini wants to keep fans on their toes.

The timing fits, though, as it will take a few weeks to get through the funeral and tribute to Monica.

Erika Slezak Reconnects With Soap Family

In her update on her fan club website, Slezak revealed that she has reconnected with some of her soap family from OLTL. Valentini worked on the ABC soap with the actress back in the day, and he’s not the only one.

Chris L. McKenna (Jack) played Slezak’s son on OLTL. When news broke of Slezak joining General Hospital, McKenna admitted he “cried” at reuniting with his former on-screen mom.

The actress also has several other friends in the soap world that she’s reconnecting with while she’s in Los Angeles for General Hospital. Slezak lives in Connecticut, so filming in LA really gives her a chance to have a reunion with her former soap colleagues.

It’s almost time to welcome Slezak to Port Charles. Who’s ready?
