When Will General Hospital’s Robert Scorpio Die? Farewell Rescuing Anna
Anna’s in a rough place on General Hospital right now, a prisoner of Sidwell in Wyndemere, while Faison may or may not be joining in her torment. But this is Anna we’re talking about. She’s survived far worse and come out on top! But this time around, headwriters Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte tell TV Insider in a 2026 preview, her captors are prepared for whatever she plans.
Her escape attempt, they say, is met “with a contingency should she prove too difficult to control.” Well, too difficult to control is kind of her entire M.O.! Luckily, Anna’s whole family is about to get in on the rescue attempt with Emma, Felicia and Mac all coming together to bring her home. But the writers preview, “What happens next will prove traumatic for the Scorpios.”

Put all of that together, and we have a sneaking suspicion this may be Robert’s final story. Our guess is one of two things: Sidwell has either captured him as well, or is threatening him should Anna try to escape. Or the family realizes that they need to call in some extra help to get Anna free? And who better to come to her rescue than General Hospital’s original super spy, Robert Scorpio?
He’s still alive down in Australia with Sasha and Daisy, and in fact just video chatted with Felicia over Christmas! But we have no doubt he’d come back in a heartbeat to help Anna. And that may be his last act of heroism ever.

Tristan Rogers, we all know, passed away in August of this year, and we won’t be getting more scenes with him. But the show still has to say goodbye to Robert, and, much like Days of Our Lives’ John Black after Drake Hogestyn passed, we can’t imagine a more fitting farewell than dying while saving a loved one.
Even if Robert is already being held by Sidwell as an insurance policy to keep Anna controlled, he could still go out in a blaze of glory, fighting back against their captors and giving Anna and the rest of the family a chance to make their escape.
Either way, we know that General Hospital has to say goodbye to Robert sometime in the coming year. And helping to save Anna — and maybe even the rest of the family — is one heck of a way to go.
