Over the years, General Hospital viewers have watched Sonny fall in and out of love with many women — not to mention hook-ups with a few that he didn’t care about at all. And while one woman has once again caught his eye, she couldn’t be any more different from the don. But hey, you know what they say about how opposites attract.

Maurice Benard recently chatted with Soap Opera Digest about Sonny’s current interest and what makes Nazneen Contractor’s Justine a great match for his character. Besides their chemistry, “she’s the perfect height,” the actor marveled, then added, “Not that that matters all that much, but she is!” In all seriousness, from the start Benard knew that Contractor was a class act and he was very excited to work alongside such a charismatic actress.

And when it comes to the drama… He’s a mobster, she’s the assistant district attorney, and that in and of itself is quite the conflict. Need more fuel for the fire? Well, Sonny’s son Dante is investigating Drew’s shooting, with his other son, Michael, as a prime suspect. However, it hasn’t been enough to stop the flirting, which had led to some complicated but real feelings and that oh-so-hot kiss…

If you happened to miss it, don’t worry, it’s worth a retell… In the February 23rd episode, after Justine expressed how she’d suffered two big losses in court, the ADA stormed out of The Brown Dog. Of course, Sonny chased after her and pleaded with her not to be so hard on herself. She thought the comment was out of pity, but Sonny made it clear that that was not what he felt for her. And that’s when it happened, they finally kissed!
