In this day and age there are many dangers out in the world and while a lot of them come in the form of animals, big and small, they can be scary nonetheless — especially when someone comes across one hiding on their property. This is exactly what happened to The Young and the Restless’ Courtney Hope (Sally).

Anyone who followers the actress on social media knows she loves her pets and like others who adore their furry kids, she takes them for daily walks. Well, on October 7, as she left the gate of her property, she came face to face with a coyote.

“Coyote just waiting for me to leave my gate to walk my dogs,” Hope stated while posting a photo to her official Instagram stories. “Thank God I saw it.”

The pic showed the gray animal lying down, nestled in the landscaping and if it hadn’t been for Hope’s sharp eye, things could’ve turned bad really quick. Coyotes have been known to attack pets, even when the owners are near, and mainly if they are sick or feel threatened. Considering it was well past breeding season, which takes place between January and March in California, it was likely the coyote was alone and either taking shelter or on the hunt.
