Coronation Street spoilers for next week provide a huge update on Theo Silverton and Todd Grimshaw

Coronation Street spoilers for next week have confirmed what happens next between Theo Silverton and Todd Grimshaw.

Soap watchers will recall that Theo, played by James Cartwright, has been abusing and manipulating his partner Todd, played by Gareth Pierce, for months.

In recent scenes, Theo even manipulated Todd into marrying him by blindfolding him and leading him to a register office, where he was put on the spot and forced to say ‘I do’.

Thankfully, Theo has started to be exposed on the cobbles as Todd’s father figure and co-worker, George Shuttleworth, saw straight through the evil builder.

Meanwhile, Gary Windass also confronted Theo and fired him from his job. As Theo becomes more and more isolated on the cobbles, he’s been planning to escape to Belfast with Todd in another worrying development.

In spoilers for next week, Summer Spellman is suspicious after Carl Webster let slip that someone else is responsible for Billy Mayhew’s death. Soap watchers will recall that Theo let Billy die in the Corriedale car crash earlier this year.

Summer decides to head to Todd and Theo’s flat, where she quizzes Theo about Billy’s last moments, but she is shocked when she discovers Todd and Theo are moving away to Belfast. Later, Summer meets up with Todd for a drink and tells him how she now suspects Theo killed Billy.

The next day, Sarah Platt tells George about Theo and Todd’s plans. Together they set off with Summer to speak to Todd but are foiled by Theo who through the ring doorbell lies that they are already on their way and Todd is paying for petrol.

Meanwhile, Todd persuades Theo to unlock the bedroom door and let him call Sarah to back up his story then he’ll know that he can be trusted. Todd convinces Sarah what Theo said was true.

Later, Theo makes out he’s going for a shower whilst Todd finishes his packing. With Theo out of the way, Todd tries to escape, will he manage to get out of the flat? Meanwhile, Sarah is at home chatting with Kit when the buzzer goes, who is at the door?

On Wednesday, in a moving one strand episode, Todd finally stands up against Theo as he reports him for assault and opens up about the months of abuse to DS Lisa Swain and Kit Green.

Meanwhile, Theo knows his time is up and is desperate to flee Weatherfield but as news of his violent controlling behaviour spreads is it too late for him to escape?

Later in the week, knowing they need the video footage from Theo’s tablet to strengthen Todd’s case, Sarah approaches Theo’s van, opens the door and rummages in Theo’s holdall. She finds a tablet and is about to grab it but is she about to make things worse?

Elsewhere, George offers to accompany Todd to the flat to pick up his things but when the door buzzer goes Todd is thrown into panic and he rushes out of the flat in tears.

Later, everyone fusses over Todd but when Summer pulls him in for a hug, Todd winces in pain and she’s heartbroken to realise how fragile he is.
