Emmerdale star Lisa Riley flooded with support after hospital visit from ‘very bad fall’

The Mandy Dingle actress had to pay a visit to Leeds General Infirmary

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley was flooded with love and support from soap stars after she was rushed to hospital following a “very bad fall” over the weekend.

Lisa Riley made her Emmerdale debut as the iconic Mandy Dingle back in 1995, but after her initial stint ended in 2001 she became a permanent fixture once again in 2019.

As viewers of the ITV soap will recall, Mandy was absent for quite a while as Lisa took on the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! jungle. During her time in Australia, Lisa won over fans with her hilarious friendship with star Ruby Wax, as well as her close bond with Salford-born content creator, Angry Ginge.

Lisa just missed out on being in the final three where she faced a double elimination with Jack Osbourne, before Ginge took the jungle crown and made history with his landslide vote.

Since returning to the Dales, however, Mandy has had less of an exciting time after learning that her husband Paddy Kirk and teenager Dylan Penders who they’ve opened up their home too were involved in the murder of drug lord Ray Walters.

While it was Paddy’s dad Bear Wolf who did the act of killing, Paddy and Dylan helped to move the body and worked hard to hide the truth from the police.

Mandy was heartbroken when they both informed her that it was time for them to confess everything to the police after Bear said he killed Ray on purpose in order to protect and spare them from prison.

Away from the Dales, Lisa took to her Instagram as she updated friends and fans of a trip to the hospital following a “very bad fall” over the weekend.

Next to a snap of her arm in a sling and posing with her surgeon, she penned: “OUR NHS @nhsengland IS INCREDIBLE…….I have to massively thank my specialist surgeon Mr Daniel Thornton at LGI LEEDS hospital and all the beautiful team, every single one of you who treated me this afternoon.

“I had a very bad fall over the weekend (no I’m sober) no drunk jokes-it was my extremely slippy breakfast stool and a woollen cardi-my left thumb took all of it-so today hence the massive damage I have had my operation, surgery, treating my UCL in my Thumb repaired. #NHS at it’s absolute best-bye for now I have some fantastic pain relief to take”.

Friends of the star flocked to the comments with love and support, as Coronation Street’s Cait Fitton commented: “Sending love beautiful one” with Emmerdale’s Amelia Flanagan also “sending love”.
