Emmerdale’s Isabel Hodgins says ‘rebuilding me’ in postpartum update

The Victoria Sugden actress updates her social media regularly on life as a mum

Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins gave a postpartum update as she focuses on “rebuilding me”, after welcoming her first child.

Actress Isabel Hodgins is best known for playing Victoria Sugden in Emmerdale, a role which she starred in for 20 years after making her debut back in 2006.

She left earlier this year after killing John Sugden in self-defence after he’d spent the last year terrorising the village. It was an emotional goodbye for the actress but her exit won’t be a permanent one.

Away from the Dales, Isabel went on maternity leave and soon after her exit aired she welcomed her daughter, Georgie, with husband Adam Whitehead.

In a video showing Isabel in labour with their daughter she penned: “On the 11th of February at 1:02am… Georgie Grace Whitehead. 11.02.26. 8lbs5oz [heart emojis],” the message across the video read.

The post then cut to the sound of Georgie crying and an image of Isabel holding her baby girl in her arms, with the post captioned: “And then we heard you.”

Since the birth, Isabel has kept her followers updated with her life as a first-time mum. Taking to her Instagram, she shared a postpartum update as she returned to the gym.

Accompanied by a video of her working out, the actress wrote: “Built a baby. Now rebuilding me. No rush… just showing up”. Co-star Eden Taylor-Draper also sent her love in support of Isabel.

The update comes after Isabel spent her first Mother’s Day with Georgie. At the time, Adam gushed: “Your first Mother’s Day @isabelhodgins. As if I didn’t already think you were amazing… but watching you become Georgie’s mum has opened my eyes even more [heart emoji].

“The love, patience and strength you show every day is incredible. We’re so lucky you’re ours [heart emoji] #firstmothersda #motherhood #mumlife.”
